Kids Night Out
Kids night out is a chance for parents to drop off their children and enjoy a couple of hours on Friday night together, and your scholars will have so much fun! For this event to happen, we will need a minimum of 16 kids. Please turn in a Sign-Up Sheet and Waiver Form in the office one week in advance so we can make sure we have enough supplies, snacks, and drinks available for each child, or cancel in a timely manner.
September 12 - Movie Night (Drive-In Movie)
The kids will be able to make their own cars out of cardboard boxes and decorate them however they choose. Once all cars have been made we will begin passing out snacks and start the movie. We will provide popcorn and juice for snack. They will allowed to wear their PJ's and bring a pillow and blanket (optional) with them.
St. James Off to a Great Start!
The numbers are growing every day. New scholars are enrolling weekly! The face of St. James is changing! We are happy to report that St. James is growing for the first time in six years. We have experienced a 20% increase in enrollment over last year at this time, with 58 new scholars from 33 new families. We have opened new classes in the Kindergarten and 2nd Grade levels. There is no doubt - St. James' reputation for academic excellence, training in moral and character development, along side our outstanding outdoor education and athletic programs (to name a few notable qualities!) is spreading throughout the city and region. Our mission to develop each child to his or her fullest potential - spiritually, intellectually and physically - is reaching deep into our community, and having a real impact. Thank you for being a part of this significant time in our St. James life. Keep spreading the good news!
Rachal Foundation Awards St. James Major Grant
In early June, St. James received the news we had been awarded a grant from the Ed Rachal Foundation in the amount of $100,000 to renovate the seven classrooms on the Water Street side of campus. St. James immediately contracted with South Texas Building Partners to significantly update the classrooms, bathrooms, and hallways to create the infrastructure for a state of the art learning environment. In two short months, the classrooms were ready for scholars on August 12, the first day of school. This renovation was essential to accomodate our growth of enrollment, up 20% from last year at the start of school. With the additional space we have increased the number of classes in the Primary, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 2nd grade level.
We are exceptionally grateful to the Ed Rachal Foundation for their generosity. With their gift, St. James is able to create a premier space for scholars to grow in knowledge, wisdom, stature, and grace, becoming the leaders for tomorrow. If you are interested in a guided tour of the classrooms, please call the School Office.
RenWeb is our new student information system engineered to offer integrated management of school functions ranging from admissions, to attendance, discipline, health, library, lunchroom, report cards, scheduling, student billing, transcripts and more. St. James is working hard to transition fully to this powerful and efficient web-based system that will give parents, student and teachers access to a variety of information at any time, anywhere via the Web.
We will be working with parents to transition from "old school" paper forms to providng pertinent data directly online. Your participation is essential. Be sure to log in RenWeb
to enter your scholar's Emergency Contact information, Medical information, and Transportation authorization ASAP.
for instructions to log in. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Nicole Hernandez in the School Office at 361-883-0835 or email her at email@example.com
